Well it’s turned out to be a beautiful day!

Of course, I love rainy days anyway. I wouldn’t care if it rained all day and all night and all day tomorrow. But it’s nice to see a little sun as well.

We were supposed to go to a wedding in L’view but decided against it because of the weather. So we had breakfast at The Eatery (I love their coupons on kltv.com), got some coffee at B&N and have spent the rest of the day intermittently reading, watching TV and playing on the computer.

Eshe is behind my chair napping. She is the typical, textbook Lab–sweet, bouncy, likes to get in her own little space and hide. So different from Mally, our Lab/Terrier/Who-Knows-What mix. She’s inquisitive, alert, skeptical, and jealous. She wants to be the center of attention but doesn’t want you to touch her (too much).

Yes, I’m a little ga-ga over my pets.

Anyway, tonight I’m going to finish book club book, The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry, and then I’m going to get started on The Apocalypse Code by Hank Hanagraaf. I’ve started it but haven’t gotten far, and I have to get into it before Shane steals it from me and reads it first (which he’s threatened to do several times).

I’m a terrible mother.

I rushed home from work this evening to check on the puppies. It’s been so cold outside that we haven’t been able to put them in the backyard, so they were cooped up in the house all day. (Not really “cooped”–there is a doggy door. But they’re quite domesticated and don’t usually go outside unless necessary.)

There they were, safe and sound. The house had suffered minimal damage, considering a 7- and a 9-month puppy were bounding around in there all day. Read the rest of this entry »
