My days just seem to fly by!

Today we started our summer work schedule, 7:30-5, and here I am already halfway through! I think I’m going to love this schedule. I usually get in around 7:30 anyway, and now we’ll get Fridays off too. Woo hoo!

Weekend was GREAT. Packed, but a lot of fun. Saturday was the Scottish Heritage Festival in Arlington, where I met up with Heather and Amy and learned all about the Scots and got to watch some Scottish sporting events and even tried Haggis, some sort of meat dish which apparently grosses a lot of people out but which I thought was fine. We gals bought matching rings with celtic knots in them, and I of course took lots of pictures, which I’ll add very soon.

Saturday night we cooked out with two of our favorite folks from church and Sunday afternoon was the annual church picnic. This was our first time to go. The weather was beautiful, and I even had some time to get off by myself and read some more John Owen.

Well, looks like I’m off…

…to the Texas Scottish Festival this weekend to celebrate Scottish Heritage Month. Now, I don’t know if I’m any part Scottish, and I’ve never had a real interest in the Scots, but my good friend Heather, a die-hard fan of this kind of stuff, is coming all the way from Lubbock to attend the festival, so I’m gladly going to meet up with her and see what I can learn. I’m actually really excited about it–this will be a totally new experience for me, and I’m sure I’ll get lots of great pictures! (Heather promises there will be lots of men in kilts.)
